The
Worship Band
Spiritual, Authentic, Relational
We make music for God and about God, so that people can worship God. Worship is about a three way communication between you, the people you are with, and God. Music is a connector that helps make this communication possible. Together with Scripture, our music provides a place where the Holy Spirit can move.
Bring all that you are and all that you have to worship because God loves you and knows your brokenness. We are all broken and we are united in worship as we allow God into our hearts through music.
We guarantee that you will experience God in engaging, inspiring, and transforming ways when you worship. We know because we see it, hear it, and feel it. We want you to be a part of this community that God is creating.

TOM Wilbur: Guitar and Lead Vocals
I play in the NINE:50 to contribute to the process of bringing people together in worship, praising God for our many blessings, and lifting Him up. I am blessed to help create an atmosphere allowing God into our hearts through the use of song--- as has happened, since the beginning of time. I think we are all part of The Song that intertwines our lives.
MY life
I have been making music since Mom started me on piano lessons in the 3rd grade. In addition to the NINE:50, I am a member of The Last National Band, a Salina rock band, celebrating 30 years in 2010. I also play keyboards and bass.
MY family
My wife, Marlis, is originally from Lakewood, Colorado. We were married when we attended Kansas University. She was a member of the Last National Band for over ten years, and then came our kids. My son, Brock, lives in Hollywood and is a talented screenwriter, actor and musician. My daughter, Brooke, attends Kansas State University and has a heart for God and for children. She is pursuing a degree in teaching and is also a talented actress and singer. I love my family very much.
MY faith
I am grateful to be able to be a part of a church like Trinity—a church that really makes a difference, with exceptional leadership-- and outreach well past the boundaries of a building. It’s a church where people really care, and have a great love for the Lord.
MY hobbies
I enjoy work, music, work, and music.
MY favorite Bible verse
James 1:2-4, 12
“My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

NIKKI S. Currie: Guitar and Vocals
I play in the NINE:50 to worship and praise God through music, to be involved in the church, and to fellowship with others.
MY life
I have been making music since I was 8 years old. I also play piano, alto saxophone, and clarinet. Currently, Steve Hanson and I are playing at the local prison, some other churches, and events. I have a PhD in Counseling and am a LPC and NCC with private counseling practice in Salina. I am also an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Wichita State University and do group counseling at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility. I have a therapy dog named Keanu.

I am married to Mike Currie – we have 3 children: Thayne who has PhD in Astrophysics and works for NASA in Washington D.C.; Brooke who is married to Jayson – she is a middle school teacher, and he is a dispatcher for the Hays Police Department; they have a 14 month old daughter named Kaylee Anne; and Taylor who is a student at Kansas State University and works in Manhattan.
MY hobbies
I enjoy gardening, horses, music, and spending time with my family and friends.
MY favorite Bible verse
I Corinthians 13: 1 - 13
“If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end.
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love."

ERIC Ford: Bass Guitar
I play in the NINE:50 because it takes contemporary and traditional worship to another level. I enjoy getting to immerse in His presence and see His Kingdom come and meet us.
MY life
I graduated from Friends University in 2009 with a Bachelor degree in Studio Art. I grew up singing in the different church choirs and started playing piano around age nine. In college, I participated in Concert Choir and Kantorei and started playing bass guitar and singing at a house church called The Lord’s Gathering. Currently, in addition to the NINE:50, I play at Grace Baptist Church on Wednesdays for the youth group along with Jessica Weinheimer.
MY faith
I have always been involved with the church, and when I started getting involved in mission work I discovered God in a real and personal way. In 1997 on a trip to Haiti I realized what it meant to live by faith. Ever since, my eyes have been opened to a much different perspective of Christ’s work and what it can look like.
MY hobbies
I enjoy photography, drawing, painting, filming, and worshiping wherever, whenever.
MY favorite Bible verse:
I love Romans in general, but to be specific, Romans 5:1-5.
“Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.”

ABBY Caseman: Keyboards
I play in the NINE:50 to use my gifts for the worship of God. Worship creates three-way communication between an individual, the gathered community, and God the Trinity. Music is one part of this communication that engages, inspires, and transforms people as they bring all that they have and all that they are into the presence of God who loves them so very much.
MY life
I have been making music since age 7 when I started piano lessons to be like my big sister. I was very active in church music ministries through piano, choir, and handbells. In school I also played clarinet in marching band, jazz band, concert band, and orchestra. I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy where I also learned to play recorder and guitar. This year I will graduate from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio with a Master of Divinity, after which I will continue my work toward being an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church and serving as a Minister of worship and music.
MY family
I am married to Patrick Broz, senior pastor at Trinity UMC, Lindsborg. Our family includes Stephanie, who plays volleyball and basketball; Nate, who enjoys gardening and video games; Matthew, who enjoys football and sings very well; and Abbi, who loves clothes and shoes.
MY faith
God has always been in my life, and I am grateful that I can now recognize God’s presence through the Holy Spirit. I am also thankful that God chose to enter our world as the person, Jesus Christ. For through Jesus, all things are possible, including the journey from death to abundant life and to life everlasting.
MY hobbies
I enjoy card games, board games, tennis, basketball, bike riding, baking, and cooking.
MY favorite Bible verse
Galatians 5:22-23
“By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.”
